Oh, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.
- George Eliot
Some people can cut their own hair. I can't. I go to a barber. Some people can fix their own cars. I can't. I take mine to a mechanic.
And I imagine, some people can coach themselves. I can't. So I go to someone who helps me in that area (in my case, the same person for the last 20 years).
Why?
When it comes to my self and my dreams, I want someone with me as I navigate the course. Most important for me, my coach listens. She listens to my ideas so that she can give back to mesometimes in other wordswhat I'm saying. Hearing my thoughts reflected back surprises me at times, but it allows me to see and hear them more clearly.
Why else would you take on a coach?
Your coach isn't emotionally tied to your dreams, and can help you examine them objectively. Coaches provide perspective so that you can see the big picture, and focus, so that you don't get lost in it.
Good coaches concentrate on clarifying results, and on organizing your life so that it constitutes the path of least resistance to your goals. A good coach keeps you in balance and unsticks you when you're stuck.
And when you declare your results, and set your plan with all the pieces in place, your coach supports you with reminders, keeping you on the path to what you've chosen.
Our mission is to work in your world, providing support for you as you create the life that matters to you.
